Chris and Etta held a simple, hip, and playful wedding in the heart of Portland last month. Etta and her girl friends started the day off at Blush Beauty Bar in NW and then headed to the Heathman Hotel to get dressed for the evening. Chris waited for his beautiful bride with his freinds and family at Paragon in the Pearl District where they held their ceremony. Dinner was served right after the “I dos.” After dinner was through, one of the funnest things i have ever photographed at a wedding happened. Chris, Etta and their close friends and family marched in a parade for over 20 minutes, covering several blocks on their way to the Ace Hotel in downtown Portland. They literally stopped traffic! Portlanders cheered and honked horns to celebrate the event passing by. There were kazoos, bubbles and balloons, and yes, the kazoos were played the entire trek to the reception. It was so so fun. I can’t express what huge smiles everyone had on their faces, including mine.
Once the reception got underway, I set up a photo booth in a corner. I have done similar things before, but this Time Etta and Chris had the photo booth and props already set up for us. It made for a really fun photo opportunity for their guests in between dancing and eating cupcakes. I loved the results to much that I am happy to now offer photo booth options at future weddings! Ask for details if you are interested.
You always hear from couples “we just want to have fun.” But this couple truly took that to heart and clearly enjoyed every second of their perfect wedding. Congrats to to stunning and happy couple!
