Chris and Ally’s engagement shoot

I know it’s been over a month since we photographed these two, but they deserve a full blog post to show off their fun engagement shoot! Chris and Ally are getting married next summer, but due to Chris attending school out East while Ally is in school here, we had to squeeze their engagement shoot in while Chis was in town. Over a few discussions about the activities and interests they have as a couple, Brian and I knew we had to set aside a whole day for the shoot. That is not a complaint, especially considering we had a homemade dinner and dessert made for us. And it was GOOD too. We started off at Cathedral Park. It is right underneath my favorite bridge in the city – St John’s. We then took a small break for some beers and tater tots at a McMenamins up the road to keep our energy up for the rest of the evening. We wandered into Forest Park and eventually ended up on top of the St John’s Bridge just as the sun was getting low in the sky. After we were done working outside, Ally and Chris invited us over for steaks, garlic mashed potatoes and veggies. Cooking is a hobby for the two of them so we photographed the whole process. While Chris finished up the steaks, Ally made us all homemade cream puffs. They were to die for. They just melt in your mouth. And fresh out of the oven? That made them all the better! (note to self: don’t look at provided nutrition information in baking cook book). In the end of it all, their engagement shoot was such a blast. We really got to know them more as a couple, AND we got a delicious meal out of it. We are seriously considering making it a policy for couples to cook for us. After doing this in-depth and personalized engagement shoot, we look forward to trying to do more like it in the future. They are fun for us and help us get to know our couples so much more. Stay tuned to the blog this week. I have a huge laundry list of posts to get to.
